After an electrifying Day 2 in the $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship, Japan’s Nozomu Shimizu stands tall as the chip leader, storming into Day 3. The event drew a total of 134 players, creating a confirmed prize pool of a whopping $1,246,200. Only three players, including Shimizu, have earned the right to advance to Day 3.
Joining Shimizu in this race to the top are Canada’s Daniel Idema, holder of three WSOP bracelets, and America’s Josh Arieh, who has four WSOP bracelets to his name.
Should Shimizu claim victory in this event, he will not only surpass his highest cumulative prize money in the 2023 WSOP series, going from $287,106 to $316,226, but he will also clinch his first-ever BRACELET.
Sadly, Motoyoshi Okamura, who had advanced to Day 2 alongside Shimizu, concluded his journey in 13th place, taking home $20,000.
