The 2022 EPT Barcelona series, which took place last year, was the first EPT Live tournament series to be held in three years after the 2019 EPT Barcelona. The MAIN EVENT attracted a total of 2,294 entries from players from 78 countries, creating a €11,125,900 prize pool. It remains the largest Main Event in EPT history.
The victory of Italy’s Giuliano Bendinelli at the Main Event final table with 1BB to spare was an unscripted drama that generated tons of articles and congratulatory messages on the world poker media news and captured the hearts of many poker fans.
Italy’s Giuliano Bendinelli has been playing the EPT for over a decade without much success.
However, on the final table of the 2022 EPT Barcelona Main Event, he overcame a 1BB chip deficit to take down the title and earn a career-high €1,491,133. This tournament earned him a spot on the Italian ALL TIME MONEY LIST at #9.
With the recent success of many Asian players at the EPT, including Korea’s Gap Yong Kim and Japan’s Jun Obara, there are many expectations for how well Korean and Japanese players will perform at the upcoming EPT Barcelona Series.
