The Main Event was streamed live on the WPT’s official YouTube channel with feature tables starting on Day 1, attracting over 1500 concurrent viewers.

Contrary to the expectations of many pundits, the event attracted a large number of players from the start of Day 1 and the $2,000,000,000 GTD, which was based on 600 entries, was over-entered by 757 players, resulting in a prize pool of $2,246,927,400.
The event attracted a number of influencers, including former WPT Cambodia Main Event champions David Jansen of the Philippines and Fabio Oka da Silva of Japan, as well as international actress Arden Cho, and Steve O’Dwyer, who is ranked 14th in All Time Money and recently finished third in the Triton MAINEVENT with TOTAL LIVE EARNINGS of $36,774,660.

The event was originally scheduled for Day 3, but due to the high interest and large number of players, the event was rescheduled to Day 4 and Day 3 ended when the final eight were finalized.
Toshihide Sawada made it to the final table with a very small chip counts of 800K, but after winning a few hands at the start of Day 4, he started to build an arbor stack.
However, he finished the event in 6th place and earned KRW82,000,0000 for his efforts.

PEACEPOKER has been following the WPT KOREA on Twitter and will be interviewing Toshihide Sawada, who finished 6th in the Main Event and was the highest finisher among Japanese players.
