This year’s BetMGM Poker Championship saw some significant changes. Compared to 343 entries last year, this year saw a nearly three-fold increase, with 1026 entries and a prize pool that exceeded the guaranteed $1M to form a staggering $3.3M.
The final table featuring the last 7 surviving players took place on June 13th, and was broadcast live on PokerGO.
The event was won by American player Leo Taffe, who beat Mike Vanier in the heads-up. The 24-year-old, who primarily plays online poker, scored his career-high prize money of $560,442 with this victory.
