The World Series of Poker is entering Day 32. Players from Japan and South Korea are performing well, with some players reaching career highs.
Event #67: $1,000 Ladies Championship

The WSOP’s Battle of the Flowers and the crowning of the World Women’s Champion is one event that has been highly anticipated since its inception.
Beating last year’s record of 1074 entries, the series attracted 1295 entries and a first-place prize of $192,167, $25,192 more than last year.
Last year’s winner, defending champion Jessica Teusl, also competed in the event and made it all the way to Day 3, but finished in 34th place.
Another Japanese player who made it to Day 3 was Mayuko Morita, who had a strong showing but finished in 18th place, earning $6,492 for her efforts.
Mayuko Morita is a former professional darts player who won her first ITM on the hendonmob last October when she won a single day event on the Asian Poker Tour in South Korea. He has also performed well at the WSOP Series, so we’re looking forward to seeing where he goes from here.
Day 3 is now over and the seven players who made it to the final table will play for the crown.
Among them, Japan’s Shiina Okamoto enters Day 4 as the chip leader, and it will be interesting to see if she can bring home a Japanese bracelet once again.
If Shiina Okamoto wins this event, she will earn her first bracelet and a career-high $192,167 in prize money.

Day 3 has come to a close with 18 players remaining alive, including Japan’s Ryutaro Suzuki. Ryutaro Suzuki, the winner of the 2023 WSOP H.O.R.S.E., finished the event in 15th place and earned $20,000 for his efforts. Ryutaro Suzuki is only 22 years old and has only been playing for a relatively short time, but he has been making waves in the Mixed Game events at the WSOP. The event was originally scheduled to last until Day 3, but due to the longer-than-expected length of play, the final three players were rescheduled to play Day 4. Day 4 will now take place on July 2 at 1pm local time.

The COLOSSUS Event, the second lowest buy-in of the 95 events at the 2023 WSOP, has begun. Flight-A, which wrapped up the previous day, drew 7,673 entries. Japan’s Sota Yamashita, Coichi Kawasaki, Katsuhiro Mori, Hiroaki Yoshitake, Rikuto Sashida, Hideaki Adachi, Kentaro Aramaki, Tomoyuki Yoshimiya, Sayoko Matsumoto, Takashi Yagura, Akira Ide, Akira Sato, Kazuhiro Shirasawa, Hikaru Saito, Yoshiya Agata, Shogo Okazaki, and Koji Inque, as well as South Korean players Hyunsick Jang, Dae Woong Song, and Sun Woo Cho, advanced to Day 2. Of these players, Sota Yamashita advances to Day 2 with 735,000 CHIPS.

The $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty was an event that featured many poker stars, and one that made poker history. Phil Hellmuth won the event, taking home $803,818 and his 17th WSOP bracelet. Phil Hellmuth became a living poker legend after eliminating Phil Ivey in sixth place and winning the final heads-up against Justin Zaki in just one hand.
Despite being a one-day event, the event was held with the same level of support from the players as the heat. The $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty, which offered a $3,000 bounty for every player eliminated, attracted a stellar field that included defending champion Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, 2022 Ladies Event winner Jessica Teusi, two-time WSOP bracelet winner Lawrence Brandt, 2023 WSOP $50,000 High Roller winner Leon Sturm, WinnerMax TeamPro Mustapha Kanit, and poker ambassador Kitty Kuo.

昨年の優勝者であるディフェンディングチャンピオンのJessica Teusl選手もこのイベントに参加し、DAY3まで進出する強さを見せましたが、34位でフィニッシュしました。
DAY3に進出した日本人プレイヤーでは、Mayuko Morita選手も素晴らしい活躍を見せましたが、惜しくも18位でフィニッシュし、$6,492の賞金を獲得しました。
Mayuko Morita選手はダーツプロ選手出身で、昨年10月に韓国で開催されたAsian Poker TourのSingle Day EVENTで優勝し、thehendonmobで初のITMを獲得した選手です。今回のWSOPシリーズでも好成績を残しており、今後の活躍が期待される選手である。
また、現在DAY3が終了し、ファイナルに進出した7人のプレイヤーが優勝者を決めるために挑戦する。
その中で日本の Shiina Okamoto選手がチップリーダーとしてDAY4に進出し、再び日本のブレスレットを手に入れることができるかどうか注目されます。
Shiina Okamotoがこのイベントで優勝した場合、自身初のブレスレットと$192,167の賞金を獲得し、自身のキャリアハイを更新することになります。
