Among the 19 players who made it to Day 3, Naoya Kihara from Japan, who ranks 3rd on the Japan All Time Money List, entered with the 9th highest chip stack. He finished the tournament in 13th place, earning a prize of $30,159. This marked Naoya Kihara‘s first in-the-money (ITM) finish in the 2023 WSOP.

The Main Event of the world’s biggest poker festival, WSOP, has kicked off two days ago. Today, on Day 1b, there were 1,118 entries, including numerous poker stars. The Main Event is being live-streamed on the PokerGO YouTube channel. Tomorrow, another Day 1 flight, Day 1c, will be broadcasted.
Yohwan Lim, a ex-pro-gamer from Korea, Adrian Mateos, the top-ranked player on Spain All Time Money List, Jason Koon, ranked 5th on the All Time Money List, and Naoya Kihara participated in the Main Event Day 1b after the Omaha Event. Additionally, many players from Japan and Korea took part in the event. The chip counts are detailed in the table below, with an Average Chip Stack of 79,877.
Joseph Cheong, a Korean-American who finished 3rd in the 2010 WSOP Main Event, was busted on Day 1a, and Kazuki Ikeuchi, ranked 10th on Japan All Time Money List, suffered the same fate on Day 1b.
