The 2023 PokerStars United Kingdom & Ireland (UKIPT) London Main Event, running at the Hippodrome Casino, has reached its conclusion.

A total of 374 entries were made across three starting flights, which generated a prize pool of £359,040. Of those entrants, 56 players made it through to Day 2 to lock up the £1,720 min-cash. Eight players returned to the final table for Day 3.

After less than five hours of play, Dylan Bradley of Newcastle emerged as the outright winner to earn £71,650 in prize money and the UKIPT trophy.

At 22 years old, Bradley was the youngest player on the UKIPT London final table, but he had plenty of experience playing online cash games before taking the step up to play the Main Event.

“It’s great, it’s nice to win. I just ran well on the final table, to be honest,” said Bradley. “It hasn’t really sunk in yet. It’s nice to get the trophy and take a winner’s photo. I might play more tournaments now!”

Bradley was responsible for five of the seven bustouts on Day 3, and accumulated and maintained a huge chip lead as the final table progressed. He reached heads-up against fellow Geordie Stephen Cherry and, moments later, sealed his place as UKIPT London Main Event champion.

Cherry has only been playing tournament poker for a year. Even though he had to settle for second place, he was more than happy with the result. Cherry took home £44,700 for second place.

Bojidar Boiadjiev finished third in the Main Event after laddering up several positions with his short stack. He walked away with £31,930.

Final Day Recap

Eight players returned for the start of Day 3. Dohyun Kim was the first to bust when he ran ace-queen into Bradley’s suited ace-queen. Bradley rivered the flush to send Kim to the rail in eighth place.

This was the start of Bradley’s rise to the top, and moments later, he doubled up with quads. Bradley then eliminated Oscar Kirby-Hogarty in seventh place before Eliot Granjon ran into Daniel Bedson‘s aces to bust in sixth place. Meanwhile, Bradley continued to chip up his stack.

Mantas Urbonas came into Day 3 at the bottom of the pile but had managed to double up his short stack and survive up until this point. His run was eventually over when he shoved short and was knocked out by Bedson in fifth place.

At this point, Boiadjiev doubled up his stack twice, and Cherry’s aces held to give him a double-up through chip leader Bradley.

Bedson, who started as the Day 3 chip leader, was next to go. He made a three-bet shove and ran into Bradley’s pocket tens. Bradley held, and Bedson was eliminated in fourth place.

After surviving a number of all-ins, Boiadjiev’s time was up. He shoved pocket fours and was called by Bradley’s pocket sixes. Bradley held, and Boiadjiev busted in third place. With that, the tournament went to heads-up between Cherry and Bradley.

Heads-up only lasted mere moments before Cherry got his top pair in against Bradley’s pair and a straight draw on the flop. The turn completed Bradley’s straight. Cherry busted in second, and Bradley won the tournament, the trophy, and £71,650.

That concludes the PokerNews coverage of PokerStars UKIPT London Main Event. Next up for the UKIPT is a trip north of the border to the Scottish capital, Edinburgh, from October 26-29.
