Darren Elias Wins Event #2 $10,000 No Limit Hold’em

Darren Elias defeated Eric Baldwin heads-up to capture the $223,100 first-place prize and the title in Event #2, $10,000 No Limit Hold’em.

Elias went into heads-up play with almost a three million chip lead, but Baldwin quickly proved game as he took the chip lead, however short-lived.

One hand after relinquishing the chip lead, Elias stormed back when he turned a pair of queens and got paid on the river by Baldwin’s flopped pair of sixes, setting the stage for the quick finish.

On the final hand of the day, Baldwin moved all in on the button for his last 2.4 million in chips with jack-eight suited, and Elias snapped called with ace-queen. A queen on the turn gave Elias the best hand as Baldwin walked away with $155,200 for the second-place finish.

Start-of-day chip leader Bin Weng had a rollercoaster of a day as he maneuvered up and down the leaderboard, eventually falling in 3rd place when his nine-eight of clubs fell to the rivered flush of Baldwin. Weng added another $116,400 to his already impressive tournament resume with the top three finish.

Rounding out the payouts for the final table pizzeria owner and recreational poker player Antonio De La Cruz scored the biggest cash of his poker career, finishing in 4th place, taking home $97,000. Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel finished in 5th place for 77,600. Event #1 Champion Vladas Tamasauskas added to his 2023 Poker Master tally with a 6th place finish, good for $58,200, and Alex Foxen landed in 7th place, taking home $48,500.
