Chino Rheem’s first cash of the 2023 Poker Masters was a memorable one, as he bested a field of 91 entries to win Event #4 for $218,400.

Rheem came into the final table second in chips and slipped a bit to start, but things turned around when two very similar hands vaulted him into a lead that he never relinquished. First, it was Chris Brewer who four-bet jammed ace-jack into Rheem’s ace-king in the big blind. Rheem’s big slick held to secure his first double-up. The second had the same action, but this time it was Jonathan Little who four-bet shoved eight-seven suited into Rheem’s pocket queens in the big blind. Again, Rheem’s better hand held up and he sat comfortably with more than half the chips in play with four players remaining.

In the end, Rheem was heads-up with Little with nearly a 4:1 chip lead. Little managed one double to close the gap, but Rheem closed it out soon after to win his first Poker Masters title.
